Applications are invited from unmarried male and female Indian citizens for Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Logisitcs Cadre of Executive Branch of the Indian Navy for Course commencing July 2011 at Naval Academy (NAVAC) Ezhimala, Kerala.

Age : Between 19 and 1/2 to 25 years (candidates to be born between 02 July 1986 to 01 January 1992; both dates inclusive)

Educational Qualifications : A degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in any of the following discipline

1. B.Com./BA (Economics)

2. MBA/BBA/BBM
3. MCA/BCA/B.Sc.(IT)
4. B.Tech./BE (any discipline including civil engineering)/ B. Arch.
5. Graduate degree woth Post Graduate Diploma/Degree in Material Management/ICWA/ CA

Physical Standards : Hight and Wieght : Minimum height - 157 cms male and 152cms for female with correlated weight.

Nestled between the imposing Mount Dilli, serene  Kavvayi  backwaters  and majestic  Arabian Sea, NAVAC provides an idyllic setting for training with its picturesque and tranquil   environment.   This is the  premier training establishment of the Indian Navy  and  will  conduct  the  basic  training for  all  officers being inducted into the Indian Navy under various schemes. INS Zamorin is the base depot ship for administrative and logistic support for NAVAC.NAVAC has been  specifically formulated to  mould you into a morally upright, physically robust, mentally alert and technologically aware professional, dedicated to  excellence. 

The  implementation  of the curriculum is oriented to ensure a clean break from the traditional strait jacketed mentality and infuse in you a sense of  innovativeness, creativity, resourcefulness and a passion for excellence. The staff is committed to impart the highest quality of training, and to mould trainees into officers and gentlemen/ladies.NS Chilka is a premier basic training establishment for sailor of the Indian Navy and serves to impart ab-initio training to recruits by a demanding and comprehensive training regimen as can be expected in a Boot camp. The duration of the course run at INS Chilka is nine weeks for Artificer Apprentices/ DEDH, fifteen weeks for NMERs(MR- Matric Recruits/NMR – Non Matric Recruits) and twenty four weeks for SSR (SSR- Senior Secondary Recruits Entry) and the frequency of the course is twice a year. On an average, 3000 raw recruits are transformed into ‘Sea Warriors’ each year.
