Recruitment of Insurance Medical Officer in ESI Corporation

Applications in the prescribed form are invited for filling up of various Medical posts in ESI Hospitals, at Baddi (Himachal Pradesh), Bhiwadi (Rajasthan), Manesar (Haryana) , Gurgaon (Haryana), Adityapur (Jharkhand) & Sanath Nagar (Andhra Pradesh) as detailed below:

1. Insurance Medical Officer : 126 posts (Baddi-40, Bhiwadi-28, Manesar-40, Santh Nagar-40) in various fields, Pay Scales : Rs.15600-39100/- and Grade Pay Rs.5400/-, Age : 30 years

2. Especialist Gr.II (Jr. Scale) : 60 posts in various specialities (Baddi-18, Bhiwadi-12, Manesar-18, Adityapur-12), Pay Scales : Rs.15600-39100/- and Grade Pay Rs.6600/- plust NPA, Age : 45 years

3. Dental Surgeon : 05 posts (Baddi-1, Bhiwadi-1, Manesar-1, Adityapur-1, Gurgaon-1), Pay Scale : Pay Scales : Rs.15600-39100/- and Grade Pay Rs.5400/-, Age : 30 years

Company Profile:

The promulgation of Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948 envisaged an integrated need based social insurance scheme that would protect the interest of workers in contingencies such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent physical disablement, death due to employment injury resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity. the Act also guarantees reasonably good medical care to workers and their immediate dependants.

Following the promulgation of the ESI Act the Central Govt. set up the ESI Corporation to administer the Scheme. The Scheme, thereafter was first implemented at Kanpur and Delhi on 24th February 1952. The Act further absolved the employers of their obligations under the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 and Workmen’s Compensation Act 1923. The benefit provided to the employees under the Act are also in conformity with ILO conventions.

The administration of Medical Benefit under the ESI Scheme is the statutory responsibility of the State Government except in the Union Territory of Delhi where the ESIC has taken over direct responsibility to administer the same with effect from 1.4.1962. The Corporation has also taken the responsibility of directly administering the existing Occupational Disease Centres at Delhi. Mumbai, Calcutta, Chennai and Nagda as well as the Scheme in the Industrial pocket of Uttar Pradesh i.e., Noida and Greater Noida.
